Construction of a Student Hostel

A New Build six storey extension to the existing Hostel, located in a restricted site in Central London.  This project included the provision of a Common Room, Function Suite and 19 Student Bed Sits for the Trustees.

The design comprises a complex cantilevered and bridging steel frame, spanning over the existing accommodation below.  The building is clad in a mix of curtain walling, stonework and brickwork with a Trocal Roof and in situ concrete floors on metal decking.

The progression of the construction phase had to be well managed in order to minimise potential delays and problems within the restricted access location.  A well co-ordinated planning schedule and efficient Project/Site Management resulted in the project being completed on time and to budget.
